About Your Host Teacher in Girona

Mónica Romero, the founder and director of Spanish Homestay Immersion under Spanish Express, hails from Argentina with Spanish roots. She spent her childhood on the enchanting island of Menorca.

Mónica moved to Barcelona for her early university education before settling in London 28 years ago—a city that captured her heart when she first visited at 14. Today, she splits her time between Spain and the UK, embracing the unique cultures of both places.

The house features

Four bedrooms are provided, including one double and three twins, and two full bathrooms. Students thus share bathrooms and bedrooms.

We make sure that the accommodation meets the needs of our guests and that everyone is comfortable. If there are any specific requirements or preferences, it’s a good idea to discuss them with us to see if they can be accommodated

We must be told ahead of time if there are any special dietary requirements.

You can come with a group of friends or family members. We can accommodate 6-8 people of roughly the same fluency level.

You have  the option to share the experience in the same teacher’s home with a maximum of three participants, introducing a unique blend of language and culture.

Girona lies in northeast Catalonia, just 99 km (62 mi) from Barcelona. You can easily travel the entire province due to Girona’s exceptional location at the terminus of the Pyrenean chain and the Costa Brava, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.

The so-called “City of the Four Rivers” shows us a historic centre dominated by mediaeval buildings and reminders of Romans, Arabs, and Jews.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with its privileged seaside location and fresh sea air, is a perfect place for outdoor lovers who can enjoy a spot of walking, running or cycling; there are some excellent routes for ramblers.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona – Accommodation

During your visit to Girona, your accommodation will be situated in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. This locale boasts a rich tradition as a tourist destination and is well-equipped with some of the most comprehensive sporting facilities in Costa Brava.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols is noted for its cork business and seafaring culture. It is situated in the southernmost part of the area on a little harbour that opens up between the mountains of Sant Elm and the hills of El Molí de les Forques.

Spanish gastronomy

Ready to embark on a delicious journey through Girona’s culinary scene?

Particularly, the Costa Brava region’s cuisine is renowned for the quality of the local ingredients. Cuina del Peix Blau Ganxó (blue fish) and Suquet de peix (rock fish and potato stew) as some of the outstanding classics of Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

Savoury seafood will also make its presence felt during the programme, but don’t forget to visit some of the multiple restaurants or attend one of the many gastronomic markets being held in the town throughout the year.

Spanish art & history

The historic area of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is shaped by the region’s history, housing palaces, churches and convents. These have invaluable historical, artistic and cultural value, and you can access all the monuments just by walking a few streets. We can visit the Benedictine Monastery, La Constància Casino, and Sant Elm Hermitage here.

In the coastal region of Costa Brava, we find multiple locations have been a point of interest for important artistic figures, such as Dalí and Miró. Here, you can visit one of Catalonia’s most renowned museums: the Dalí Theatre and Museum in Figueres.

These and more key places of Spanish culture will be in our itinerary. Of course, you are free to make suggestions, whatever you fancy!
